World Debut of the New Horizon FD85
Our intensive correspondence and the permanent exchange of ideas with the designer Cor D. Rover and the Horizon shipyard have paid off. The idea to construct a yacht in its kind was born here in 2012, and presented as a “vision” in January, 2013. Horizon has made it possible to now implement this vision already a reality!
Now it’s here: The FD85, a European yacht highlight built with one of the best international yacht builders in the world (nominated among the world’s 5 best custom-built yacht builders).
What can you say about this yacht? The new Horizon FD85 is just great hit!!! In the photos it looks already great and very specifically, but in nature it is even more impressive. Last week we were at the FD85’s world debut on the Taiwan International Boat Show and we are really something of enthusiastic!
This yacht is an eye catcher and really spacious. The hull number 1 has five beautiful large cabins (owner’s cabin on the main deck level over the full width of the yacht) and in the rear 2 cabins (each 2 beds) and galley for the crew. A wheelhouse, a generous salon with floor to ceiling windows and large deck areas complete the picture. The aft deck is beautiful and larger than on many over 100′ yachts that we know. It is nicely protected by 2 stairs to the fly bridge and the long roof and it offers so many possibilities. So you can easily fit two full seating areas (sofas and dining), there is space for sports equipment, sunbeds or whatever…
The fly bridge is huge, the side decks are extremely wide, a large hydraulic swim platform can accommodate a very large tender…
And all this under the regulations for yachts up to 24 meters in length!
Actually, this can also be the perfect charter yacht…
When you come on board, it is modern, lounge-like, bright, large, different … It feels like entering a luxury penthouse on the water. And the reactions of visitors to the boat show were all the same, everyone likes the yacht; even older customers from America or Australia, who are actually more conservative, were thrilled.
We are now working hard to get the next yacht to Europe (is scheduled for early 2017), because the hull number 1 is already sold and remains in Asia. The next hull is already under construction and we just fix the layout and the equipment. Due to the large volume and the flexibility of Horizon she offers a number of layout alternatives.
Oh, and don’t forget: The quality of workmanship is high, solid and simply one of the best, if not the best!
