The new Horizon RP120
The new Horizon RP120 on the Taiwan International Boat Show
Another highlight and the largest yacht on the Taiwan International Boat Show was the new Horizon RP120 (RP for Raised Pilothouse). Over all it measures 122 feet (37.20 m) and is nearly 8 meters wide.
The RP120 has beautiful exterior lines (the exterior design comes from the design studio J.C. Espinosa) with deep drawn bulwarks for complete view from the salon and the owner’s cabin.
The layout is classic with 5 cabins forward, with the master cabin located on the main deck, a raised pilothouse, fully equipped galley and a large salon. The great crew area in the rear has a captain’s cabin with double bed and private bathroom, 2 crew cabins (each with 2 beds) with private bathroom and crew galley. On the foredeck a great seating and sunbathing area invites you to a view around or a sundowner. The beautiful large fly bridge is fitted with a hardtop with integrated slide-soft top, modern side wings give that special touch. The interior was designed by the famous Italian designer Luca Dini, with high quality materials and stylish panels on walls and doors.
In the stern there is a huge garage with space for a large tender, workshop, separate toilet, … which is easily convertible to a beach club, followed by the large hydraulic Hi-Lo platform. Place enough also for a possible sauna area and many other nice features.
About the operation characteristics we can easily say:
Various experienced individuals from the industry made remarks that the RP120 is the most comfortable yacht of this size they had ever experienced. The yacht is furthermore also very responsive.
“A colleague who had the privilege of testing the RP 120 underway just prior to its placement into the exhibition hall for the show stated that “the RP120 is the smoothest yacht of this size I’ve ever driven, it’s really responsive too!”
This RP120 features 2 x 1,900 hp Caterpillar engines of the type C-32A and a diesel tank capacity of 30,000 liters. The calculated 20 knots has been achieved during the first sea trials. At 10 knots she cruises with a very efficient fuel consumption of 100 liters/hour for both engines (the yacht has transatlantic range) and if the customer wants faster, speeds up to 27 knots are possible with the larger engine option.
This beautiful Horizon RP120 is immediately available, avoiding waiting to get one constructed and has an interesting price-tag.
